For years, Michael A. Haas & Associates LLC was a fixture in Newark, Ohio. The kind of firm people found through a neighbor's recommendation and not a marketing campaign. In 2026, the firm changed hands. Michael made the decision to sell the practice to Matt Suchoski, someone he'd come to know and trust over the course of the transition. Matt was not a stranger stepping in from outside, but someone who spent real time learning the firm, the clients and what made the relationships here work in the first place. The firm took on a new name, Crestwood Tax & Advisory, but the people, the standards and the care behind every return stayed exactly the same. Michael remains actively involved today and is still the person many clients call first.

Matt brings something different to the table - 20 years in corporate IT spent building and improving systems for organizations of every size. It's a background that doesn't show up in a typical tax firm and that's exactly the point. Rather than treating the firm's operations as something to leave alone, Matt is investing in the tools, processes and systems (including thoughtful use of AI) that will let the team spend less time on busywork and more time on the work that actually matters to clients - understanding your business, catching what others miss and giving advice you can actually use. He's also actively pursuing his Enrolled Agent (EA) credential with the goal of completing it before year-end - a commitment to making sure his own expertise keeps pace with the standard this firm has always held.

Today, Crestwood is a full-service tax, accounting, payroll and advisory firm serving individuals and businesses across Central Ohio and beyond. We're proud of where we came from and even more focused on where we're headed by building a firm that combines the trust of a firm you've known for years with the tools and systems of one built for what's next.
